WEEK #21 WELL DONE! PREPARE FOR STATE!

Wow

Simply wow

I am blown away by everyone’s performance at Regions! Some extraordinary swims! Truly an inspiring thing to have been able to watch. It warmed my heart to see your excited faces seeing the times you swam and it was tough to see when goals weren’t quite reached.

However, that is part of the beauty of a sport like swimming. Regardless of how the race or event goes there is always something else to work towards. The goal time, the goal effort, the goal distance, the lessons and bettering ourselves.

Isn’t that what all this is about? Leaving the pool, the race, the season and the school year a better swimmer, a better athlete and a better person?

I can’t think of any better purpose to all this swimming. Oh and by the way, if you’re curious, if you were at every single practice throughout the whole season you would’ve swam 304,700 yards!!! Which is equivalent to 173 miles. SUCCESS!!!!

I am very proud of each of you. You all swam your best at Regions! This was very apparent to me. All your hard work and dedication has paid off and I hope you all bring your full hearts into the other aspects of your lives.

Moving forward-

Regions is the final meet of the season for most of the team. Those who qualified for State will continue to practice until the State meet on February 18th-19th.

On making it onto the State Team! I am very excited to see you swim at State!

Unfortunately I can’t allow anyone who isn’t on the State Team to continue to swim due to limiting numbers and potential covid exposure.

That being said, we have had a covid potential exposure on the team. I highly recommend getting tested for covid. I have taken a few tests these past few days and they did come back positive as well.

So, this week there will be no Monday or Wednesday morning practices. I am hoping to be in the clear by Thursday or Friday to come back to practices. Haylee will be running afternoons for those who test negative and who feel comfortable swimming.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to me directly.

A big thank you to the Pugsley and Gannon Families for providing breakfast last week, and to the Kiphibane family for providing snacks for the Regions swim meet. We also want to thank everyone that helped deliver Regions signs! Thank you!

I know everyone is eager to get pictures from the meets and from the team picture day. We are figuring out the best way to get everyone access to the pictures and will send out a link soon.

We are working on a date for the team sleepover and the banquet, so stay tuned!

Go East!
